S. of A." Randall Made Knives Carry Case My summary: an Orlando stamped fingered green tenite Randall Model #15 "Airman" and Johnson riveted splitback sheath for consideration. Both the knife and sheath are in very good condition -- probably lightly carried at some point but used sparingly. The knife has been lightly sharpened. Clean, crisp stamp -- the original grind lines are visible. That said, I think the blade has previously been (lightly) shop cleaned. The back side of the blade is shop etched with the name Bernard L. Weidner -- presumably the original owner. The knife is outfitted with a thin brass hilt that is 2-1/2" long x 13/16" wide. The fingered green tenite handle held in place by two screws. The tenite is in good shape with some shrinkage and handling / scratches. (refer to close up photos) Note the lack of an extended tang -- rare for such an early knife. The sheath is a Johnson riveted splitback with large copper rivets at the throat. This sheath has been reconditioned by Grady McCotter down in New Bern, NC -- he's the best of the best when it comes to vintage sheath restoration. Plain / baby dot snaps on the keeper strap and stone pocket flap -- both work perfectly. Both the keeper strap and stone pouch are solid without deterioration. The leather is extremely supple -- all stitching is solid. A two piece "Combination Crystolon - Made In U. S. of A." sharpening stone with yellow print is in the stone pouch. The description above and 12 photos below offer a very fair representation of the overall condition -- have a look at the close up photos and feel free to ask questions. This is a extremely rare and nice 1960's vintage model 15 green tenite and Johnson riveted splitback sheath that would be a centerpiece in many knife collections.
