Description
*** PLEASE NOTE: THE PICTURES DO NOT DO THIS MASTERPIECE JUSTICE ****** Reduced in asking price due to circumstances - don't miss out now ***Kit Manufacturer (MOST of ship is handcrafted as kit was makeshift at best): SERGAL (A trademark of Mantua Model Group)Scale: 1:78Dimensions: Length - 43"  Height - 35"  Width - 17"Ship cannons: 102History: The "Sovereign of the Seas" warship, a magnificent masterpiece of shipbuilding was commissioned by order of King Charles I of England in 1634. It was adorned with 675 pieces of solid gold ornamentation at a cost of 65,586 pounds. She launched in 1637 and the gilding was so splendid that the Danish sailors who often fought against her nicknamed her "The Golden Devil." This ship was considered 150 years ahead of its time.Model Construction Facts:1) Over a period of 7 years and 2 months it took 3360 hours of meticulous patience to complete (the "plans" were completely erroneous in many crucial areas that would have ruined construction).2) An educated estimate of individual parts (a huge number handcrafted due to inaccurate sizing by the manufacturer) to assemble the entire model is over 10,000.3) People who have actually viewed the model have marveled at the sheer beauty and intricate workmanship. As I said, pictures cannot do justice to such a masterpiece.Marketing Information:1) Lesser quality models have been sold for no less than $15,000.2) This is the definitive Sovereign of the Seas. Direct contact with the manufacturer states that only 1 in 1,000 of the models are brought from "kit" to completion.Delivery on this exquisite piece can likely be arranged in the vicinity of Vermont personally, with prior arrangements of course. Safe shipping outside that is guaranteed. My father, Herman Danielowich, who is the Master craftsman selling this will be happy to answer questions. Please contact me via this auction if you have an interest. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to own an exact, extremely beautiful historical replica.
