Description
Rock Rough and Lapidary Equipment Sale 1. Highland Park 24" Saw - Highland Park is of course out of business. But one thing I learned over the years is that they made bullet proof saws that stand the test of time. This saw is probable 50+ years old and still gets the job done. This saw is in working order. The rubber on the left rear wheel was damaged when I acquired the saw. I replaced the motor on it two years ago with a 1 HP motor that is dual phase. It is currently set up for 220. That can be changed by any electrician on the motor itself to 110 depending on your needs. Current 24" blade has excellent life left on it. 2. Lortone 18" Panther model Saw - I bought this saw new in the summer of 2006 from Richardson's Ranch. It has a 3/4 Hp motor and is set up for 110. Excellent blade life left on the current 18" blade. Prior to pick up I will empty the oil from both these saws and wipe down the tanks. I use the 24" to cut down the larger material into bite size chunks for the 18" saw. This system has worked well for me to date. Over time I have accrued extra blades for both these saws which are included. I have a couple 20" blades which are also included. While they won't fit the Lortone 18" they will make handy back ups for the 24" saw. You shouldn't have to purchase a new saw blade for either of these saws for awhile. Also there are spare parts for the Lortone which are also included. 3. Pacific Titan Cabbing Machine - You can go to the Pacific site on the web and see a stock photo and spec sheet on this machine. This machine has the 6 original wheels on it from the factory and they are in excellent shape. The last owner didn't do much work with this machine and other than to inspect it and check it's operation I haven't used it. Machine is operational and ready to crank out cabs. It is set up for 110. 4. Richardson's Ranch Hi Speed grinder - This machine was purchased by it's original owner from that location. You can find pictures and specs on the Richardson's ranch website. They still sell this machine today. It is in excellent working condition and I will include all of the various grit pads I have accrued since owning it. Originally designed to give folks the ability to face polish thunder egg halves in a short order is equally efficient at polishing slabs or any flat faced material. Excellent piece of equipment. This equipment is set up for 110. 5. Richardson's Ranch Polishing Machine - This is the companion machine that Richardson's sells for the high speed grinder. Once you run your thunder egg through the process you still need a way to do a final polish on the face and they designed this machine with that in mind. Excellent working order and is set up for 110. 6. Three Barrel type tumblers from Lortone - There is (1) one 12 lb tumbler and (2) 3 lb tumblers. All are in working order but will need to be cleaned up as they haven't been used for awhile. I have spare barrels for the 3 lb tumblers that are included. 7. Silicon Carbide Grit - I acquire some bulk barrels of this material from a shop that was closing up. I figured I would do some bulk bag sales, but didn't quite get around to it. There are partial barrels of 80/100 grit, 220 grit, and 400 grit. The 220 and 400 were seldom used as the barrels are almost full. That's the reason you see bags on the out side of the containers. We had to remove some to get them on the truck. I'm not getting any younger. The 220 barrel weight states 300 pounds as does the 400 grit. I question that as two of us were trying to pick them up. At any rate there is some where in the neighborhood of 600-700 pounds of grit here. Should keep the tumblers rolling for a lifetime and you can still sell one pound bags on the net. 8. Cutting Oil- There is a partial 55 gallon barrel of Shells Diala X Oil. Pella oil is way too expensive for the recreational cutter. I think the last price I saw when I checked was around $10. a gallon. My first barrel of Diala X was $240. and then came the crunch. The barrel being sold here cost me $500. It contains approx 35 gals since my last saw cleaning this spring. I don't condemn the use of Diesel or Kerosene strictly because of oil costs nowadays. They are both dangerous alternatives that have been used over the years. Diesel is in my opinion substandard because of the sulphur content, and neither has enough oil content. Plus your courting disaster. The Diala X is actually a light weight transformer oil used at the large power stations. I have found it to be an excellent cost effective substitute to Pella or a like oil. What you use for saw lubricant is your choice, but there is no substitute for a refined light oil. Makes your saws feel better, and you don't have to worry about burning down your habitat. 9. Rock Rough - There is between 5-8 tons of rock rough. That's a rough estimate as I have no means of weighing it. My 55 lb scale comes no where close to covering it. I did spend a summer palletizing it and my back says there is more than 5 tons. Regardless all the pictured rock is included in the auction. Other than the rough this also includes 19 three gallon containers of slabbed material and alot of extras. It's hard to give a breakdown on what's out there. I collected mostly agate material, but acquisitions brought alot of variation into the mix. Includes agate, jaspers, petwood, jade, and more. I did weigh out one pallet of the jade blocks and it totaled 556 lbs. The other two pallets are far heavier so a rough estimate on the jade alone is between 1500-2000 lbs. 10. This will be a local pick up only due to the sheer weight and volume of the material. I realize it will take several pick ups to get it all. I will keep it as safe as it has been until all material is picked up as long as it is done in a timely manner. I'm pretty easy going and we can work out the timing. Now comes the hard part for me. I'm a 55 year old that has lived and will hopefully die by my word so alot of times I believe things go without saying. But in this instance I need to add the following. Should you bid on and win this auction all of the listed material will belong to you. If you elect to not take all of the rough material that is a part of this auction then so be it. But your final bid will still stand. I am not trying to draw folks to a yard sale. I'm trying to set some one up with pretty much all the stuff to run a side or full time business. Ebay limits my photos to 12. I do have alot of photos of this auction that I will be happy to email to you if your send me a query with your email address. Currently the file is about 10 Mb. I am not a professional photographer. I take my photos with fluorescent daylight lighting. I don't believe in enhancing techniques. They aren't retouched in any way. If there are any questions reference this or other material you would like to see please don't hesitate to contact me. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS: Please do not bid as I am a domestic only shipper.
