The second scene is of a knight climbing rugged mountain terrain, over a dragon’s egg in the nest to reach his princess in distress, held in the tower window above. Intense and piercing slotted eyes, horns, teeth, claws, and realistic tongue are delicately hand painted adding to the seduction of this piece. It is signed by the artist and numbered 18 of the limited edition. In 2006 this carving with signature was market valued at $2550.00 appreciating an impressive average of $92.00 per year. Secondary market values were posted on Rick Cain’s web site and gathered from a multitude of dealers that he was in contact with. Unfortunately, in 2007, Rick began to work exclusively from his studio and no longer has access to the secondary market information that was provided to him. I can only assume the piece has continued its increase in value over the past few years. It’s being sold to help us cover increasing medical bills for our daughter and if it does well there will be other select pieces from my collection up for sale.
