Description
From Franklin, a relatively large (5.5" by 4" by 2", 5.5 pound) mixture of blue fluorescing hardystonite, red fluorescing calcite, and green fluorescing willemite. Photos show the SW response. There's a little orange fluorescing clinohedrite in one region (see photo 5) but it's rather pale and wispy. Nevertheless, I've always regarded this piece as a particularly nice display item. It was in my personal showcase for years, before getting crowded out by other large multicolor hardystonite combos. The fluorescent minerals are intermixed with non-fluorescent brown andradite garnet. On one face there are also several blocky masses of a pink crystalline mineral which seems to have a weak brownish-red fluorescence. Bustamite seems like a good bet, but that's not guaranteed. In any case, the pink regions gives this face an interesting daylight appearance. Shipping will be USPS flat rate priority mail,
