Listed for auction a wonderful display depicting the historic event which took place on November 25, 1963 in Dallas,Texas. The display contains the autographs of three people who were directly involved in the events which took place over a three day period. On November 22, 1963, President John F. kennedy was shot and killed while riding in a motorcade in Dallas Texas. Within a short time after the shooting a Dallas Police Officer attempted to stop a man for questioning when he to was shot and killed. The shooter fled to a nearby Dallas movie theatre were he was confronted by Dallas Police Office Nick McDonald. After a fierce struggle, officer McDonald was able to disarm the man and take him into custody. The man was later identified as Lee Harvey Oswald and suspected to be the shooter of both the Police Officer and President Kennedy. On the morning of November 25, Oswald was to be transferred from the Dallas Police station while accompanied by a detail of Dallas detectives. One of those detectives was James R. Leavelle who Oswald was handcuffed to. At approximately 1045, while on national television a man ran towards Oswald and shot him at point blank range. The shooter was identified as Jack Ruby, a well known bar owner who was believed to have connections to the mob. Lee Harvey Oswald was transferred to the hospital were he later died from Lis Listed for auction is a display centered around an authentic check signed by Jack Ruby. The check is drawn upon the Mercantile National Bank at Dallas, dated 12/31/50, and nicely signed Jack Ruby in green fountain pen. The check measures 8.25 x 3.50 inches, it is in very fine condition and displays perfectly within the display. Mounted above the check is an black/white 5X7 inch photograph of the infamous moment when Jack Ruby shot Lee Harvey Oswald on national television. Mounted at top left are seperate photographs [mug shots] of Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby which were taken at the Dallas police station. Mounted at the top right is a vintage first Day Cover commemorating President John F. Kennedy, nicely signed by detective James Leavelle. The cover is postmarked May 4, 1964, and is dedicated and signed '' James R.Leavelle Dallas Police Detective'' in blue ballpoint pen. The cover is affixed with one U.S John F. Kennedy 4 cent postage stamp and is in fine condition. Mounted at bottom right is a is a black/white photograph of Dallas Police Officer Nick McDonald. The photograph is signed "Officer Nick McDonald Captor of Oswald 11/22/63'' in black felt pen. The photograph measures 4x6 inches and is in very fine condition. Mounted at bottom left is a professionally stamped metal plaque which states, "Jack Ruby on November 24, 1963 the presumed murdered of President John F. Kennedy, Lee Harvey Oswald was to be transferred from a Dallas Police Station. Accompanied by police officers and reporters, he was shot and killed in front of television camera by night club owner Jack Ruby. The display has been professionally doubled matted in a grey/blue matte with a black inner matte border. The display is framed in attractive ornate black frame to the dimensions of 25 X 17 inches. The display is absolutely stunning and all autographs contained within the display are authentic.
