The Order of Al Nahda is the second highest Order in Jordan,just after the Order of Al Hussein (which is only for Head of State).The Order of Al Nahda was initially created in 1917 by Sherif Hussein of Hedjaz and remained a hedjazi Order until the fall of that kingdom in 1925.Then Amir Abdullah,son of Hussein,in his capacity as ruler of Trans-Jordan made this a Jordanese Order in 1925.The Order of Al Nahda (Renaissance) is named in honour of the rising of the Arabs against their Turkish rulers in 1916.In 1949 a crown was added at the top of the "flag suspension" & the flag colours were modifying place (initially the green was in the middle for flag of Hedjaz,after 1949 the white is in the middle for flag of Jordan).
