FINE ANTIQUE 19TH CENTURY WICKER WHISKY FLASK WITH SILVER TOPClick to EnlargeClick to EnlargeClick to EnlargeClick to EnlargeClick to EnlargeClick to EnlargeDescription:Fine Antique Gentleman's heavy duty, silver screw top, wicker cane covered bottle flask; undoubtedly used for transporting Whisky or some such liquer. This piece dates to the late 1800's, is about 10 1/4" tall X 3 3/4" wide X 2 1/4" deep. It is entirely covered in a beautifully woven cane; the type used for some antique chair seats. All of the cane is intact with a deep, natural aged dark tan appearance; and has a 3 dimensional look and feel to it. The cane covering provides a secure grip to the bottle, and also would cushion the glass from damage. The glass bottle inside appears to have been hand blown into a mold, as it has small bubbles in the glass, and seams along both sides. The heavy duty silver screw on stopper is about 1 1/4" in diameter, with 2 engraved raised bands and a large 1 turn screw bottom. The top has an old red rubber seal that has hardened over time. The top of the silver stopper is marked "DREY & SONS" and "PICCADILLY CIRCUS" (London, England), with a Fleur-de-lis pattern in the middle. The stopper is either silver or silver plated, and has not been cleaned or polished. This piece is from the California estate of Bill Williamson; best known for his world famous Antique Bowie Knife collection that was sold at Butterfield & Butterfield's San Francisco auction house in January, 1997. This piece is in perfect untouched condition that collector's love to see; with no damage, repairs, or alterations. Note that the loose ends on the bottom of the 2nd picture, just above the bottom skirt is not broken strands; it is where the weaving ended. Perfect for any back bar, whisky, bottle, Bowie knife, gambling, Western Americana, picnic use, conversation piece, or could actually still be used today. Weight is about 1 lb. 7 oz..PLEASE CHECK OUT ADDITIONAL PRODUCTS & SERVICES OFFERED BY WEST COAST TRADING POST BY CLICKING ON THE "ME" BUTTON IN MY EBAY LISTINGS; OR, COPYING AND PASTING THIS URL: http://members.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewUserPage&userid=1knifeguy1Shipping :Shipping & handling are free, and allows completion of the transaction with just a few clicks of the mouse via PayPal.Payment :PAYPAL PAYMENT ONLY!
