The piece is in very good condition with no damages of any type to the case. The gold cloth does show some fraying at the very bottom of the grill and there is one small interior plastic defect on the front of the radio. Otherwise this piece is in great shape and has its original back as seen in one of the photos.  The brown swirled color is extraordinary on this radio with very strong gold type highlight accent colors on both sides and on the top of the radio. There is no fading and no wear to the plastic box of the radio. The wonderful color of the box makes the plastic appear almost like a bakelite piece. The radio works very well with a clear sound on all AM channels. This style is one of the more collectible radios made by Emerson and has a great art deco form and style to it. The piece is marked on the back with the Emerson name and is the model 520 made in 1946.  Radios from the Golden Age have become very hard to find in this good condition.
