Description
Ancient Priscacara and Mioplosus Fossil Fish 50 Million Years Old Eocene Epoch Beautiful Large Plate Measuring 30" X 15" X 1" This is a great fossilized fish from the Green River Formation outside of Kemmerer, Wyoming. This particular plate is a rare multi-fish specimen. The plate has a large 12 inch mioplosus and a 5 inch priscacara. This particular fossil came from the 18-inch layer of the Green River Formation. This layer has by far the best specimens known, and is off limits to fossil hunters. The Priscacara are found in both the split fish and 18-inch layer, with the better specimens coming out of the 18 inch layer. Priscacara are related to todays perch or bass. Mioplosus were solitary hunters which makes this plate interesting...it almost looks like the mio is engaging the prisky. This is a great fossil that is mounted onto a wood backing with hangers. This fossil is ready for display. The matrix has an outstanding marble-look to it and would look great if incorporated into a kitchen or fireplace. Super nice fossil that I will ship for free if the buy it now is used. If not, then shipping will be about 50 dollars. International shipping will be 125 bucks. Condition: Excellent. Overseas bidders must pay shipping as it will cost substantially more to ship to you.
