Description
*Please read full description before placing your bid* Offered for your consideration is a Stunning Deco Fada Model # 652 "Temple" Alabaster with Cherry Red trim Catalin Tube Radio made circa 1945 in New York. This radio is in excellent condition containing no major cracks, chips, nicks, dings, deep scratches, or repairs. Only blemish I can find is a tight small stressline on the bottom left foot rail as shown in the pictures. The radio displays the mildest of heat marks on the top as shown in the picture, a natural blemish occuring from normal use. It retains its factory original red Catalin fluted knobs, racetrack bezel, grille cloth and chassis. The glass dial scale is factory original and in excellent condition. The chassis is clean and complete and currently playing well, I was able to pick up 3-4 stations. Classic lines make this a distinctive addition to your art deco office or home decor. If you are looking for a handsome addition to your collection, please consider this beauty or one of over 50 other mirrored, bakelite, chrome, and other choice catalin radios and deco clocks I have listed currently from a recent collection I purchased. MAKE- Fada MODEL- #652 "Temple" YEAR- 1945 CASE MATERIAL- Catalin, the Gem of Plastics SIZE- 11” W x 6 5/8 ” H x 5 1/2” D CONDITION- This radio is in excellent condition only containing one small brown stressline on the front lower left corner footrail(as shown in pictures). There are no other chips, nicks, dings, deep scratches, or repairs, now or in the past. The red fluted knobs and racetrack oval bezel are factory original catalin and have no damage. The grill cloth is factory original with little to no fading. The cabinet has been refinished by hand with no machine sanding to display the true alabaster color as when sold new just after World War II. It was then wiped down with some Novus 2 Plastic Polish and is ready to be displayed, played, and enjoyed!!! No cosmetic restoration/repair was necessary. CHASSIS/PLAYING CONDITION-The chassis is clean, complete, and I was able to pick up 3-4 stations that were clear. As a reminder, these vintage catalin radios are not recommended for everyday use, nor should they be played for extended periods of time as that could cause tube burns to the cabinet.
