Acquired from the Amish/Mennonite Relief Auction, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Description: This Hand Appliqued Quilt is embellished with delightful calico fabrics in the wonderful floral tradition of The Baltimore Album Quilt. The Amish quilt maker showed her expertise with a needle when she hand appliquéd nine (9) different floral blocks with the same jewel tone fabrics. Note the elaborate trim appliqué that runs the expanse of the pillows. The superior hand appliquéd blocks are then enhanced by her expert, even hand-quilting. Please see pictures of the intricate hand quilted design on the sides of the quilt. You will cherish the hands that made this magnificent masterpiece. She truly was a loving and generous lady to donate this incredible work of art! Fabric: 100% cotton and cotton blends with medium polyester batting Backing: a white cotton blend Binding: The burgundy red binding has been neatly machine sewn to the front of the quilt and hand stitched to the back with tiny stitches Condition: Never used, no stains, tears or holes.
