PROPERTY OF COCA COLA BOTTLING CO. is around the bottle and 6 1/2 FLUID OZ. is near the base. Although somewhat worn, a Three Rivers Glass Co. logo (3 RIVERS*) is located as indicated near the base. TIVOLI is clearly embossed on the bottom. The successful Three Rivers Glass Co. was located in the remote South Texas town of Three Rivers. It was in operation for only 15 years, from 1922 to 1937, and captured a majority of the Southwest USA market before being bought out by the larger BALL Glass Co. who closed the small Three Rivers factory after only one year of ownership.   Since it was common for the name of town where a bottling company was located to be indicated on the bottom, a search of towns in the USA named TIVOLI resulted in only two locations: Tivoli, New York and Tivoli, Texas. Considering the proximity of Victoria to Tivoli, Texas, this unique bottle apparently is from a Tivoli, Texas bottling company that operated for a short time in the late 1920's into the early 1930's. Like many other small South Texas towns, Tivoli (pop. 540 census in yr. 2000) had it's "boom days" in the 1920-1930's period when oil was discovered in the area. At the height of it's growth, Tivoli had ~700 people and was likely one of the smaller towns in Texas to have a COCA COLA Bottling Company. The thick glass, partially textured in the neck area with six textured panels separated by clear raised ribs, is chipped in the area (as shown) between the COCA and COLA letters. In addition, there is a bruise spot near the base (white spot in the picture) and a tiny nick (not shown) near the lip. Inside the bottle in random areas there is a thin haze which may be removed by detail cleaning. There's no cracks, there are some tiny bubbles in the glass and like most other vintage Three Rivers Glass pieces, the clear color glass has a very slight tint. Overall the condition is Very Good.
