Description
This bike is just like the one in the picture on the back of the 1964 Schwinn sales brochure, where the Fair Lady was introduced. It also happens to be the actual bike photographed for the Liz Fried Sting Ray book and featured on page 54. It was owned by a major Stingray collector from Chicago when it was photographed, then I got it even before the book came out. The bike has exceptional chrome, chainguard, paint on wheels, real nice 63 style seat strut and wide bars. Frame decals are nice, but there are several areas on the paint that were touched up many years ago by the original owner. It even has correctly dated tires that show center beads. So not only is this an unmolested example of the first girl’s Sting Ray, but it has the added pedigree of being a book feature. This bike will make a great addition to your Krate lineup! (sorry, the Liz book shown is not included in the auction….and yes, the brake strap is on it but was not when I bought it) Careful packing and insured shipping to the continental US is F-R-E-E!!
