Description
cpkapty Store 1960s 70s HIPPY Canteen / Flask / Water Jughandcrafted leather with inset shell and stones For sale here is a fine artisan made hand-crafted leather Hippy canteen or water jug or flask made of leather with inset shell and gemstones. Measures 6.5" tall by 4" wide and 3" deep. Has a carrying cord that measures 15" long, and the gemstone-set stopper is also on a cord. Both cords are hand-braided natural fiber. This item was hand-made by someone who loved doing it, and paid a lot of attention and took a lot of time making it, and all that care and attention show in the finished artistic craft item. Excellent vintage condition, no noticeable damage, just the expected estate wear of an item of it's age. The shell is inset at center and itself is inset with a gemstone. The other two gemstones in this item are in the stopper at top, and at the lower right bottom is the largest gemstone, an irregular banded blue onyx. I'm listing a LOT of art and related items this week,so please check out my other listings, and browse my ebay store for more fun and fabulous finds!!I've been in the vintage/collectible business for over 25 years.I'm on the list of advisors for both the second and third editions of Warman's Jewelry by Christie Romero, in addition I was a founding member for the online forum SilverForum and the Modern Silver website with Marbeth Schon. I was also a contributing author for the travelling exhibit and accompanying book, "William Spratling, and the Mexican Silver Renaissance" edited by Penny Morrill. I'm a gemologist, and I have jewelry design and jewelry-making experience as well.Shipping for both items will be $9.40 total for s/h/i via USPS parcel post mail, additional charges for international. I combine shipping to save money wherever possible, however, I can only combine shipping on purchases from the same day.California residents to pay 7.75% sales tax.
