Description Gillette PROTOTYPE FAT BOY Safety Razor VERY RARE! You are bidding on a rare Gillette-Prototype Fat Boy Safety Razor in great condition. This razor was one of the first Fat Boy razors made. The design was somewhat different than what most Fat Boy razors were. Check the last 2 pictures for the differences between the regular Fat Boy and this Prototype model. (The one on the right is the prototype. The regular Fat Boy on the left; is not included in this auction.) The Prototype has a red dot to mark where the number adjustor starts and stops, the number dial is shorter, and the inside where the blade lays is designed differently. The butterfly doors on this razor look very nice and shiny. They open nice and smoothly, and close tightly. The 1-9 dial adjustors let you control how close you want to shave; click precisley. These numbers still have all their black color. The thick handle also looks very good and the black ring below the dial is still very black. Date code is D-1 which indicates this razor was manufactured the 1st quarter of 1958.
