Description
IGNORE THE SHIPPING PRICE!! I WILL QUOTE SHIPPING FEE WHEN I KNOW WHERE YOU ARE!!! This fabulous lamp was purchased in 1953, and is in amazing condition, with no marks or cracks anywhere on the wonderful lucite parts.  The black shines up just as it did when it was new, and the rest is like new, as well.  It works perfectly, as you can tell from the photos where it is lit. The shade is a wonderful pagoda shape and has been recovered in a faux shantung, and could be re-covered again, since the structure of the frame is in great sturdy condition.  The shade is in great shape except for what looks like a small watermark on one side which is barely visible. The top of the base is two layers of black lucite in the pagoda shape, and moves down into the main base of the lamp that is a textured, frosted lucite on three sides.  Encased in the three sides is a small planter, as you can see in a couple of the photos.  Inside the planter is a free-standing black lucite lattice.  In front of the planter is the beautiful ceramic (or porcelain?) Siamese dancer.  He is perfect, with no chips or marks, and moves slightly in a circular motion.  His armbands are gold color, as is the stripe on his hat.  He also moves slightly in a circular motion. The bottom of the base is a platform of black lucite resting on a pedastal of white lucite.  The bottom of the base measures 10" wide, 9" deep, 1 1 /2" high.  The pagoda top of the base is 10" wide, 7" deep, 1/4" thick, and the smaller pagoda on top of it is 3 1/2" X 6".  The white, frosted, three sided lucite surrounding the dancer is 12 1/2" high, 8 1/2" wide, 7" deep.  the planter is 7" wide, 2 1/2" high, 2" deep.  The finial is 7 1/2" tall, and graduated from 2 1/2" wide down to 5/8", and is 5/8" thick.  The dancer is 12" high, and is 4 1/2".  The shade measures 17" x  25" and is 11" high, with a top opening of 8 1/" x 6 1/2".As to shipping,  I will ship it anywhere in the U.S. (lower 48), and the price will vary according to where you are located, with the maximum being the $120.00  If you are local, you are welcome to pick it up.  I am forced to put in a shipping cost, but pay no attention to that as I will let you know what the cost will be when you tell me where you are.  I plan to ship in 2 boxes, to protect the shade and the lamp, since they are such different materials.  Half of the final price will be due within 24 hours of end of auction, via PayPal.  Balance due within 7 days of end of auction, also via PayPal.  (Local pick-up will have the option of paying cash)This is such a very fabulous item, so representative of that ultra-cool era.  It's a rare find, a real one-of-a-kind. Don't let this one slip by you! Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
