Description
maxuta_id="016816" 1932 TSIOLKOVSKY MANUSCRIPT: REACTIVE MOVEMENT It's offered to your attention Konstantin Tsiolkovsky manuscript of 1932 named "REACTIVE MOVEMENT" on a leaf of about 8x95/8" (206x246 mm), handwritten on both sides, about flight in stratosphere and in space aspects. The manuscript contains Tsiolkovsky pictures and his two signatures through the text. Tsiolkovsky wrote the following: Front side: 1932. K.Tsiolkovsky Reactive movement The flight in non-dense atmosphere (stratosphere), and then in vacuum, requires the following life support facilities for pilots and passengers. 1. Closed body, impermeable for gases. 2. Oxygen supply (daily reserve should not exceed 1 kilogram) 3. Alkalis and other substances to adsorb expiratory and secreted products. 4. Food reserve (greenhouse). 5. Rocket inner temperature control by means of rocket surrounding light-absorbing surface change. [note on the right side] Temperature generally depends on us and can change from +200 0C to -260 0C Back side: [drawing] [note near the drawing] Assembled like scales. Flat wings. Some of moveable shining scales. Flat wings with short wing span will not be heavy, but when their length along the rocket is big they are not very thick. At low speed they will work comparatively faintly, at high speed - much better. K.Tsiolkovsky [drawing] Tsiolkovsky Konstantin Eduardovich was a philosopher, the great enthusiast of metal dirigible building and space exploration. Living in Russian city Kaluga, far from the capital in a small house, being half-deaf, self-taught scientist Tsiolkovsky worked as the teacher of mathematics in local school! His name became well-known in the world because of his dreams about space and rockets! He foreknew and described in his works (1903 and 1914) the future principals of space flights using jet power and rockets, the weightlessness problem, how to survive in spaceship and the necessary equipment for that and for "space walks". Fantastic person! We may just be delighted with his clear ideas what he had living in a province of not an advanced country... FORMAT: 8x95/8" (206x246 mm) CONDITION - VERY GOOD FOR ITS AGE.
