Description
offered is a fabulous and extremely rare 1930's art deco machine age ronson combination touchtip lighter and cigarette box. the chrome plated lighter features a black lacquer finish and ivory lacquer hinged lid. the underside has 4 wonderful deco stepped chrome round feet. the touchtip lighter with wood lined cigarette box is similar to figure 198 but has a different designed lid. i've only seen one other similar model in 30 years of collecting ronson lighters. the ronson touchtip mechanism was first invented in 1934 by louis v aronson - considered the most important lighter inventor of the 20th century. the ronson measures 3-1/4" tall x 8-1/8" wide and is in very good lite used condition. the mechanism moves correctly and should work with proper service of fuel.and flint. there is some lite typical crazing on the ivory lid that is found on almost every ronson ivory finish. there is a tiny corner edge discoloration to ivory lacquer that hardly detracts. the chrome shows its age with tiny spots which may clean to look a little better. overall - a super rare important vintage 1930's art deco enamel ronson touchtip table lighter for your collection. the photos are reflective and the ronson looks better in person with rich chrome coloring. insurance included in usa ship.-overseas is express mail and ship to italy is express mail only at $50.
