Description
!! 1939 Schwinn-Built Mead Ranger Champion !! This bike was COMPLETELY restored by Keith Dean and is one of the single BEST restored bikes I've ever seen !!! I have NEVER seen a Ranger restored to this quality and level, period.  All chrome tripple plated to the highest quality, all paint was done with the utmost accuracy to the true specs of the day.  The Mead Ranger Champion was Mead's version of the famous Schwinn Autocycle.  This bike is stunning and photographs very well, but to see it in person takes your breath away, it is THAT well done.  This particular bike was purchased from the ORIGINAL OWNER in Seattle and restored 20 years ago.  I have the ORIGINAL photographs of the original owner and his younger brother in 1939 enjoying their 1939 model Mead Rangers!!  The original three photos are included with the bike in this auction !! This bike is equipped with the completely chromed Mead fork with the original lock as well as two keys.  Lock still works perfect !!  This bike has wide steer Torrington bars, a Double Adjustable stem with "AS" engraved bolts, dual Silver Ray headlights with faceted glass lenses, the original cad-plated dual headlight bracket, an original but rechromed greyhound dog fender ornament, rechromed 1939 drop center rims with NOS Torrington double butt spokes with the original New Departure hubs front and rear, as well as near NOS Carlisle Lightning Dart Tires.  Chainring and crank are both rechromed, the pedals are NOS Torrington 10s (not reproductions!), the rack has a rechromed rack top with the original jewel intact !! The saddle is a restored Mesinger B-600 Deluxe Long Spring restored by Bob Ujszaszi !! The only "ding" I would give this bike is that the tank jewel on the door side has a very small internal hairline crack that is barely noticeable.  I took a close-up pic to illustrated this.  The crack is right through the bottom of the "Schwinn" script on the jewel and is not structurally threatening and the jewel is as solid as the other.  I just wanted to point that out as I would want that pointed out to me. !! This is your opportunity to own both a rare and highly collectible piece of Americana !! If you have ANY questions or would like ANY further photos, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Thanks for looking !! !! Payment Via MONEY ORDER or CASH/CASHIER'S CHECK !! I will NOT ship this bike outside the Continental U.S. without prior arrangements made with me. This bicycle will be professionally packaged and shipped in two boxes to ensure it is delivered safe and sound !! ***Shipping is $125 anywhere in the Lower 48/Continental U.S.*** Check out my other items!
